The New Inn, in the picturesque village of Shipton Gorge, is a community-managed pub. It is now run by our new landlords Jack and Téah and their team offer all customers a very warm welcome.
When the pub faced closure by the brewery in 2005, Shipton Gorge’s residents reached an agreement with Palmers to take on the lease of the pub.
The New Inn successfully re-opened in 2006 when the village locals came together to support their much-loved pub and keep it open as the hub of the village and their community.

At the New Inn we pride ourselves on our high quality, locally sourced ingredients, supporting Dorset farmers, fisheries and suppliers.
Our chef uses great local seafood, meat and vegetables when available, to create high quality fresh dishes.
Here at The New Inn, together with our reputation for food, we are equally well-known for our great-tasting beer, well-kept cask ales and overall meticulous attention to detail to ensure our beverages always taste as good as they possibly can. We serve a range of award-winning Palmers Real Cask Ales fit for any season, and flavoursome lagers all year round.
We also offer a varied selection of premium-brand and local spirits, a carefully chosen list of white, red and rose wines, fruit juices, carbonated drinks and non-alcoholic bottled beer and cider.

Rob Sheridan2025-06-14A really great little country village local, it's such a shame more locals don't use it. Food is honest pub fare, beer is well kept, garden is lovely. A proper pub.Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google.
Tommy M2025-05-25My fella and I are down camping from Bristol and popped in for a pint on our way to the next site. The owner said that him and his partner have just taken the pub on and reopened a few days ago. Nice friendly chap with great plans for the place. Kind enough to do us some chips too before the kitchen was formally open. Hope all goes well!Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google.
Joey2025-01-18HIGHLY RECOMMEND Great service, lovely pub with a friendly and welcoming atmosphere. Food was absolutely superb, generously portioned and well priced. I would recommend the steak pie and nut roast as that is what we had and it was delicious!Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google.
