Unfortunately, buses do not connect with the village but there are two nearby buses.
The nearest bus stop is for the X51 bus which is about a half mile away on the A35. Regular buses travel to Bridport and / or Dorchester.
To the South the nearest bus stop is in Burton Bradstock which is about a 1.5 mile walk away. The bus from Burton Bradstock is either the X 52 or X53 which travels either along the coast to Weymouth or towards Bridport and then onto Axminster.
Hive Beach at Burton Bradstock is 1.5 miles away, and Bridport is 3 miles away.
West Bay, famous for Broadchurch is approximately 4 miles away.
Yes, for visiting the pub. Our toilets are accessed through a narrow passageway.
Both our rooms are up a flight of stairs and on the first floor. There is no lift.
Both cash or credit card payments are accepted.
Yes, the pub has parking spaces for 6 cars. The car park however is relatively tight and not suitable for larger vehicles which may be parked on the quiet road outside the pub.
Yes, well behaved dogs are more than welcome to join you whilst you stay or drink or dine with us. Dogs can stay for an additional £10 / room / night. Additionally our landlady Andrea will often have dog treats available for your furry friends! If you are booking a table please let us know in the notes that you are bringing your pet with you and we will do our best to allocate space for them. We politely ask that they are kept on a lead and off the furniture. It is common for us to have several dogs in the pub so less sociable pets may be best left at home.
Yes, great walking is available from our doorstep. We are approximately 1.5 miles away from Hive Beach at Burton Bradstock, where you can join the South West Coast Path. There are footpaths and bridleways that take you into Bridport, or across the rolling Dorset hills, or maybe a shorter, more local walk to Shipton Hill for a fantastic view might appeal.

Katie Burgoine2025-08-21An absolutely gorgeous little pub with the most amazing and lovely staff. The landlords were our absolute saviours and couldn’t have done more to help when we landed ourselves in a slight predicament. Would absolutely recommend to anyone and will be making a special trip back there. 5⭐️Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google.

Tony Jones2025-07-11Booked again for an evening meal which was excellent. New tenants Jack and Teah have turned this village pub around already. Early days for them, but the food was excellent and a good pub menu at sensible prices. A pleasant convivial atmosphere made for an enjoyable evening. Thoroughly recommend, which is rare for me these days!!Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google.

Dawid Tracz2025-06-27I had a wonderful stay at The New Inn (DT6)! The room was very nice and spotlessly clean—you can tell they really care about the details. It was comfortable, quiet, and beautifully presented. The highlight was definitely the delicious breakfast—fresh, tasty, and a great way to start the day. I highly recommend this lovely place and would definitely stay again!Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google.
Rob Sheridan2025-06-14A really great little country village local, it's such a shame more locals don't use it. Food is honest pub fare, beer is well kept, garden is lovely. A proper pub.Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google.
Tommy M2025-05-25My fella and I are down camping from Bristol and popped in for a pint on our way to the next site. The owner said that him and his partner have just taken the pub on and reopened a few days ago. Nice friendly chap with great plans for the place. Kind enough to do us some chips too before the kitchen was formally open. Hope all goes well!
